Getting an Encoding from a Screenshot
  1. Take a screenshot of your Scrabble board (include the rack if you want it encoded too).
  2. Open any AI assistant that accepts image uploads — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
  3. Attach the screenshot and paste the prompt below:
Examine the Scrabble board image. For every tile on the board, record it as LETTER@COLUMN-ROW where COLUMN is the letter label (A–O) of its column and ROW is the number label (1–15) of its row, separated by a dash. List all tiles on a single line separated by commas. Place all tile entries under the heading BOARD:. Then record the player's visible rack tiles left to right on a line beginning with RACK: Use no commas between the rack letters. Use lowercase for any blank tile on the board; use ? for an unplayed blank in the rack.
  1. The AI will output a BOARD: line and optionally a RACK: line.
  2. Paste the result into the Import Encoding box at the top of this page and click Load Board.
